Less than 2 months until the wedding… have most of the decorations for the reception now. We have a venue for the wedding and the reception, I am personally ready to tie the knot already, I am grateful we are not having an elaborate wedding.

Well, just wanted to let my few faithful readers know I am still here! Good nite-

I think that the modern bride can save so much money by completing some of the tasks on her own. I have time to devote to preparing for my wedding and I am enjoying the crafty side of me. My wedding will be simple yet beautiful and by doing a lot of the work on my own, and with the help of friends I am saving a small fortune.

We now have a venue for the wedding, and have started to accumulate decorations, serving trays and so on for the reception.

We are having a hard time finalizing the menu, and this is going to be the number one priority while my future mother in law is in town, she is officially helping me plan the menu.

I found boxes of 100 fake diamonds that are sooooo adorable. I paid $6.97 per box of 100. I bought 2 boxes. I saw these really cute fake ring decorations at Dollar Tree and have decided they would look great in combination with the fake diamonds. We are going to casually toss them onto the tables as like an accent decoration.

My mom and Adam’s mom are going nuts about flowers for the wedding reception. I don’t know if we are going to put flower arrangements at every table. I think that is pretty standard and basically everything else is going to be very unique. WE are considering using betta fish instead of flowers on the tables, but it is not a definite yet. I also saw a really cute idea about putting fruit and or flowers in vases, filling them 3/4 full with water and floating a candle in the vase. That might be a posibility.

I am feeling more like me today. The past few weeks have been pretty rough on me, and my blog has suffered from the drama of my life.

Thanks for reading and putting up with my drama, bitching and infrequent posts lately! I am also happy to say my soon to be mother in law does not hate me, we are back on regular terms. She is coming up for a visit next week. I have decided not to be a selfish bridezilla, we are working on the reception menu together while she is in town. I feel bad about not wanting her involved earlier.

I have been applying for jobs all night, including jobs I would not even dream of applying for on a normal day. If I am not in school I need to work full time. I have been writing a lot this week, at least I am doing something constructive.

The wedding is just a little over 2 months away, I am trying to find an officiant now that we have a venue for the wedding. My soon to be mother in law has finally calmed down, she called last nite and talked to me. It was nice to not be the bad girl, and to have her talk to me without any drama or stress.

I have been sick for 2 days now, I look like hell, and feel about the same way.  Being so stressed out over not being in school has not helped me out much either, I am so stressed out and freaked out. What am I going to do?! I need to finish my degree.

I am really freaking out about this.

I can’t attend class until I pay my tuiton, normally financial aid covers all of that for me. I am really upset. School is so important to me.

I am sorry that I did not get to post last week. Life can be so hectic at times as we all know-

I am pretty sure we are going to get married at the Carrousel park- I am going to give a call today and find out if that is possible.

My soon to be mother in law sent me a package. I was quite shocked to see that she had been thinking of me, and not in a bad way. She found 7 packages of really pretty beads and 5 packages of charms. I think that is a hint that she is ready for new jewelry.( She is my biggest fan  in that department)

I quit smoking cigarettes last week- and I feel great! I am looking for a part time job- I think I want to waitress- I need the cash-

Adam apparently was not thrilled to see me, he barely said 2 words to me last nite, fell asleep watching tv, woke up before me, spent 30 minutes in the shower and left for the day. Talk about a warm reception. To vent for a minute…

That really bothers and upsets me, I feel like he is punishing me because I was away at school for the entire week, I have a feeling his sudden disinterest in seeing me has to do with his mother, (who is more irritating than ever) and the fact that I have asserted myself as the ‘boss’ of the wedding and reception. When I deal with her, and then his attitude because I won’t let her control me, I begin to question myself. Am I making a mistake? Will our lives always be this way? Why did everything change because we got engaged?

Well in a nutshell, he is out fishing with a friend, I am upset with him, and I am so sick of the stress and drama this wedding has brought to my life. I am putting it on the back burner and will deal with the wedding later.

It will be so nice to not feel crazed over it all for a few minutes! It is my f–ing wedding, that is the bottom line. It is not Adam’s mom’s wedding, and as much as I would like to include her, if she can’t do things on my terms and respect my wishes then she can just sit back and not get involved. If someone doesn’t learn to control his mom there may not be a wedding or reception. I will still marry Adam, but I don’t have to deal with drama, stress and smothering…

Unfortunately, my sweetie had to work tonite, so we haven’t seen each other yet! He is due home in about twenty minutes and I can’t wait! We haven’t seen each other since last Sunday.

Jon and Aaron gave me one of the invitations they are making for me, oh they are so cute!

They are doing pink and white cards, with pink&black/ white and black ribbon along the sides, a stamped heart of roses on the front, on the inside a wedding bell and wedding rings. They look GREAT! All of my girlfriends gushed when they saw the original sample!

We managed to get a lot of planning accomplished while I was at school, wich is great. I am just too tired to get into all of that now. I haven’t posted in a few days, sorry. Life gets hectic sometimes…

We boh wanted guests to release butterflies instead of throwing bird seed, tha expense was enough to make me gasp in shock. I have always been smart with my money, and spending so much on an afternoon was not an option, asides from all of that I am infact not rolling in dough. Books, tuition, and living expenses pretty much dominate my finances.

So with a very realistic budget in mind we are having a small ceremony, we are considering at the Ohio Reformatory or The Carousel Park for locations. I have toyed with the idea of getting married in my house in Mansfield too. I love the house and would love to get married here. After much discussion with Jon, my mom and a few other friends I made the decision to not wear a traditional white wedding dress. As my mom put it “Why on earth would you spend that much money on a dress if nothing else is going to be traditional!” She’s right! I have already decided on a really great pink blouse by Sag Harbor, and a cute brown skirt from AE. I want to have fun on my wedding day. I want to be comfortable yet presentable. WELL I got a touch off track there… The point is I am not a traditional bride, and the wedding is going to be in Mansfield, my home.

I am not from Mansfield Ohio. I have been living here for a few months, maybe 8 months now. After being away for a few days I realized how much it feels like home, how happy I am there and how much I want to get back up there!

We are going to go with random flowers, nothing in particular. Whatever suits my mood, and is available at the florist down the street from my house. We are going to have a simple ceremony, which will include either merry go round rides or a tour of the Reformatory. We will get married, go out to a nice lunch then part ways with our close family( parents, a few aunts and uncles, siblings, nephews and neice, maybe grandma if she wants to make the trip.) From there Adam and I will pick our hound dogs up, and head off to a part 1 of our honeymoon. We will have 2 days on the lake. Then we head off to our hometown, have a reception on Saturday, then we will have part 2 of our honeymoon, a cabin in the Athens Ohio area for a night, then we are going to take 2 days and go somewhere else, we aren’t sure where yet.

Today I will be working on the reception menu, so tonite I will have some ideas on that subject to share.
